Privacy policy
This site has no form and does not track you. Here is what is collected anyway, why, and how to have it erased.
1. Who is responsible for your information
This website is operated by Groupe Bien-aimé (Quebec enterprise number 2282430406), doing business as Site7, [NUMÉRO] rue Birnam, Québec, QC, [CODE POSTAL].
The person in charge of the protection of personal information is John Bien-aimé. Write to that person for any question or request covered by this policy, at john@email.site7.ca or 514 623-6847.
2. What the site collects on its own
This site has no form. You can read all of it without sending us anything.
Two things still happen. First, the host keeps technical logs, as every web server does. Second, if you consent to it, an analytics tool sets a cookie to count visits.
- Hosting logs: IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time. They keep the site online and help spot abuse.
- Call and text buttons: the click opens the app on your phone. The message is written on your device and never passes through this site.
3. What you send us when you get in touch
When you text, email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to tell us. In practice it is almost always the same three things.
- Your name and your business name.
- Your phone number or email address.
- What you tell us about your project.
Please do not send sensitive information by text: no social insurance number, no health information, no full credit card number. We never need any of it to prepare a quote.
4. Payment
When you pay by card, you are sent to a payment page hosted by Stripe. The card number is entered with Stripe, never on this site: we do not see it and we do not store it anywhere.
On our side we see what Stripe sends back: your name, your email, the amount, the date, the last four digits of the card and whether the payment succeeded. That is what an invoice and the accounting require, and nothing more.
If you pay by Interac e-Transfer, your financial institution handles the transfer under its own rules. We receive the amount, your name and the message you attach to the transfer.
No card is kept on file. A monthly payment is only set up if you subscribe yourself, and you can end it at any time.
5. What it is used for
Your information is used for the following purposes only:
- Answering your request and preparing a quote.
- Performing the contract if you become a client: building the site, putting it online, maintaining it.
- Invoicing and keeping the accounting records the law requires.
- Keeping the site online and protecting it against abuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do no profiling and make no automated decisions about you.
6. How long it is kept
| Information | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Exchange that does not lead to a contract | 12 months, then deleted |
| Client file (contract, content provided, correspondence) | Term of the contract, then 3 years |
| Accounting records and invoices | 6 years after the end of the tax year concerned, as required by tax law |
| Hosting logs | 30 days |
| Analytics data | 14 months |
After those periods the information is destroyed or anonymized.
7. Who else has access
No employees: the business is run by one person. Some technical suppliers do see certain information so the site can work.
| Supplier and location | What it sees |
|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. (website hosting) - United States | server logs: IP address, browser, page visited |
| Cloudflare, Inc. (DNS and protection) - United States | IP address at the time of the request |
| Stripe, Inc. (card payment) - United States and Ireland | name, email, amount and card details, entered directly with Stripe |
| Google LLC (Google Analytics) - United States | cookie identifier, page views, clicks on contact buttons |
These suppliers are located outside Quebec. Their contractual protection commitments were assessed before use, as Quebec law requires for any communication of personal information outside the province. No other third party receives your information, unless the law requires it or you ask us to.
8. Cookies and consent
The site uses an analytics tool to see which pages are read and which contact buttons are clicked. That tool sets a cookie on your device.
It is off by default. Nothing is set and nothing is measured until you click Accept in the banner. Declining removes no feature and changes nothing about what you see. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
9. Your rights
Quebec law gives you rights over your information. Write to the person in charge to exercise them. We answer within 30 days.
- Access: get a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correction: have inaccurate or incomplete information fixed.
- Withdrawal of consent: stop a use you had agreed to.
- Deletion and de-indexing: have information taken down or a link removed, in the cases the law provides for.
- Portability: receive your computerized information in a structured, commonly used technological format.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'acces a l'information du Quebec.
10. Security and incidents
Access is protected by unique passwords and two-factor authentication. The site is served over HTTPS. Client files are kept in protected cloud accounts that one person can open.
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we promptly notify the Commission d'acces a l'information and the people concerned, and the incident is entered in the register we keep for that purpose.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy can change, for example if a new tool is added to the site. The update date at the top of the page shows the version in force. Clients are told directly about any significant change.
12. Contact us
For any question about this policy or to exercise a right: John Bien-aimé, person in charge of the protection of personal information, john@email.site7.ca, 514 623-6847, [NUMÉRO] rue Birnam, Québec, QC, [CODE POSTAL].
